Kristen + Nick | Water to Wine Venue and Hall & The Heiserman Residence | Monroe, MI

Writer: BaileyBailey

Rain on your wedding day might not be ideal for everyone, but for Kristen and Nick, it turned out to be the perfect ingredient for their magical celebration. Their big day was a beautiful testament to the saying, "What's meant to be will always find its way."

The day started with overcast skies and showers, but as if by some divine intervention, the rain cleared up at just the right moments. It was as if Mother Nature herself was orchestrating the perfect backdrop for their love story. Kristen got that “lucky” wedding day rain, and we got those beautiful clear skies for photos - talk about having your cake and eating it too!

The ceremony took place at the stunning Water to Wine venue. This converted church, with its gorgeous stained glass windows and beautiful front steps, provided an absolutely breathtaking setting for Kristen and Nick to say their "I dos". Before the ceremony, the couple shared a special "first touch" moment. While they chose not to see each other before the aisle, they exchanged personal vows and held hands in a touching, intimate moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the day was how Kristen and Nick incorporated Nick's daughter, Sayler, into every part of the celebration. It wasn't just a union of two people, but the creation of a new family, and that love shone through in every detail.

After the ceremony, we made a quick pit stop at the Little Brown Jug - the place where it all began for Kristen and Nick. This personal touch added such a fun and meaningful element to their day. It was a moment of true celebration before heading to the reception.

Speaking of the reception - wow! Held at Nick's family home, the setup was nothing short of incredible. The tent was possibly the most gorgeous I've ever seen at a wedding, creating a magical atmosphere for the evening's festivities. Friends and family filled the space with laughter and love, the drinks were flowing, and there was even an amazing donut board that had everyone's mouths watering. One of the most touching moments of the night was when Sayler, Nick's daughter, gave a sweet little toast. Even as I go back through these photos now, it brings tears to my eyes all over again. It was such a beautiful testament to the loving family these three have created together.

From the moment the first song played, the dance floor was packed. The rain outside couldn't dampen the spirits inside that tent - if anything, it added to the cozy, intimate atmosphere.

Kristen and Nick were the most gracious hosts, their love for each other and their guests evident in every smile, every laugh, and every dance. Their day was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the most "perfect" weddings are the ones that embrace whatever comes their way with joy and love.

As I packed up my gear at the end of the night, with the sound of laughter and music still filling the air, I couldn't help but think - rain or shine, this day couldn't have been more perfect. Congratulations, Kristen and Nick! Here's to a lifetime of dancing in the rain together.
