Frequently asked wedding questions
How does the "build your own collection" approach work?
It's simple! First, choose your hours of coverage (4, 6, 8, or 10). Next, select one complimentary enhancement from our options. Finally, add any additional enhancements at special tiered pricing. This way, you're only paying for what you truly value.
What if I'm not sure how many hours I need?
Great question! I'd be happy to help you determine the right coverage based on your wedding timeline. As a general guideline: 4 hours works for intimate celebrations, 6 hours captures key moments, 8 hours provides comprehensive coverage, and 10 hours documents your full day from getting ready through the grand exit.
How do we book?
Booking is easy! Securing a date requires a 30% non-refundable retainer and a signed contract. Contracts are sent electronically, and payments can be made online.
When is the final payment due?
Final payments are due 4 weeks prior to your wedding date.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! After your initial retainer, we can set up a monthly payment plan to spread the remaining balance over time, with the final payment due 30 days before your wedding.
Do we get rights to our images?
Yes! You will receive full printing rights to all images delivered from your wedding day. This means you can print and share any of your images anywhere you'd like.
How many images will we receive?
While the exact number varies depending on your day, you can generally expect 50-75 edited images per hour of coverage. All images are professionally edited in my signature style.
What's the difference between having one photographer or adding a second?
As your primary photographer, I'll capture the key moments of your day. A second photographer allows for multiple angles during ceremonies and important moments, candid guest reactions, and simultaneous coverage (like one partner getting ready while I'm with the other). For weddings with 100+ guests, I highly recommend adding a second photographer.
How long until we receive our wedding photos?
Your complete gallery will be delivered within 90 days of your wedding day, though I always strive to beat this timeline. I'll send a few sneak peeks within the first week so you don't have to wait to see your memories!
How will we receive our images?
You'll receive your images in a private online gallery where they can be downloaded in high resolution and shared with family and friends.
What is included in the engagement session?
The engagement session includes up to 90 minutes at a location of your choice within 30 miles of Toledo, professional editing, and a minimum of 50 high-resolution digital images in an online gallery.
What is a pre-wedding portrait session and why should I consider one?
A pre-wedding portrait session is a private photo session that takes place before your wedding day where you get to wear your wedding attire and be photographed without the time constraints of the actual day. It's the perfect opportunity to test your complete wedding look, get comfortable in front of the camera, and create stunning portraits in a location of your choice.
Your pre-wedding portrait session includes up to 90 minutes of photography at your preferred location, professional editing, and a minimum of 50 high-resolution digital images. Many couples choose to display these portraits at their reception and love having extra time to create beautiful, relaxed images without the timeline pressure of the wedding day. This session is perfect for anyone who wants dedicated time to capture their wedding look, whether you're wearing a dress, suit, or any other special attire.
What's the benefit of a wedding album?
Your wedding album becomes your first family heirloom. Unlike digital files that may get lost in technology changes, a professionally designed album preserves your memories in a tangible way that you'll enjoy for decades. Each album includes 20 spreads (40 pages) with your favorite images.
If we select the first anniversary session, when does that need to be used?
The anniversary session can be scheduled anytime within 18 months of your wedding date, giving you flexibility if you want to capture a different season or accommodate your schedule.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 9-18 months before their wedding date. Prime dates during wedding season (May-October) typically book 12+ months in advance, especially for Saturday celebrations.
Can we upgrade our collection after booking?
Yes! You can add more coverage or enhancements at any time. The only restriction is that adding a second photographer must be done at least 60 days before your wedding to ensure availability.
What happens after booking?
After booking, you'll receive an email with next steps for planning a timeline. We'll also set up a meeting (in person or virtual) to go over final details 2-4 weeks prior to your wedding date, or whenever is convenient and details are in place.
